is a newspaper whose goalĀ is to bring the issue of slavery to the minds and hearts of the readership. The newspaper shows the growing antislavery movement within Michigan focusing on local churches and other social organizations.

is a great Ann Arbor District Library resource for Ann Arbor newspapers. The dates vary for each paper, but there are links to the digitized paper or articles. This is an ongoing project.

View Resource Ypsilanti Commercial newspaper

is an index only resource. This resource covers the years 1865-1898, but does not cover all of the Ypsilanti area. Researchers may find some citations for vital records such as births, marriages, and deaths, but are encouraged to search the cited dates on the microfilm copy for further information.
